Thorndon Quay and Hutt Road are part of this critical northern route to and from the city. During the weekday morning peak on Thorndon Quay, there are around 580 people on bikes, 170 people walking, 3,260 people on buses, and 1,960 people in cars. But buses are often stuck in traffic, and parts of the route are poor for people cycling. We'll:

  • Give buses priority, making them a reliable choice for people travelling to and from work,
  • Make it safer for people to cycle between the city and the planned Ngauranga to Petone walking and cycling link.
