Trial Slip Lane Closure - SH2 offramp Ngā Ūranga Interchange

Published on | in

From 10 am Tuesday 24 January for three weeks the SH2 off-ramp at Ngā Ūranga/ Hutt Road, and the left turning slip will be considerably shortened.

This work is to investigate options under the SH2 bridge, to connect the walking and cycling path along Hutt Road from Wellington City to the new Te Ara Tupua Shared walking and cycling path from Ngā Ūranga to Hutt City.

Only those drivers turning left onto Hutt Road are affected. The two straight-through lanes, heading towards Jarden Mile, Newlands and Porirua, will continue as normal.

Drivers leaving or joining SH2 at Ngā Ūranga/ Hutt Road may notice an increase in queue time during this period, which will be monitored, and are advised to plan accordingly.

Temporary traffic management will be in place during the three-week period, this will ensure the safety of everyone and monitor traffic flows.

This work is part of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving’s work to transform Thorndon Quay and Hutt Road, and to move more people with fewer cars. Let’s Get Wellington Moving is a partnership between Waka Kotahi, Wellington City Council and Greater Wellington City Council.
